I am trying to replace the discontinued 276-0137 (aka gp1u52x)in my project.
I use the demodulator circuit by removing the photodiode on the circuitboard and wiring in my own.
So obviously I can't use modern replacements that are sealed in plastic.
The circuit board inside is very small and takes up little space.
What I'm looking for is a demodulator with few external parts .
Which ic to use.
A double or quad circuit chip would be most useful. Thanks

Vishay makes them. Mouser sells them. I hope you find something here that will work. Otherwise, get an old TV, VCR, or something else that is IR controlled and rip the receiver from it.

I've already got some of those vishay recievers .
My chances of finding what I need in a vcr are pretty slim.
Could you recommend an ic for building the demodulator from scratch?
I've tried prototyping some circuits with the 567 and 555 but no luck yet.
I could really use a speciallized ic.
Any links or circuit diagrams?
Why reinvent the wheel?
Thanks

The IC's for doing it are long obselete, and were fairly layout critical to use as well - why can't you just use a modern IR receiver chip as suggested (which out perform the old ones anyway!)

Your problem escapes me. Why can't you use an integrated photodiode/demodulator instead of having to keep them separate?
