Newbie: USB-C PD Programming

I’m in the process of getting a USB-C PD product made, I have an engineer working on the schematic and PCB layout. The part I’m missing, and I’m looking for some support on is the firmware programming. The chip I’m using is Cypress CCG3.

I’m looking for some guidance/help. I don’t have the final schematic yet, but I should have it within the next day or two.

for device programming tools it's always best to use the tools provided by the chip vendor...

Yeah, that much I understand, however they have multiple tools and I don’t understand the differences. I know that I should, but I’m trying to learn.
