In Europe DCF77 is used to syncronize all official clocks and also privately used ones. The transmitter works at 77.5KHz (located in Mainflingen close to Frankfurt/Germany) and its max. reliable range is 2000km. The receivers are very small and fit into small devices without problems.

Is there any equivalent being used in South-East-Asia region?

I possible I want to avoid using a GPS-receiver where a time signal is also available.

The signal will not be used for navigational purposes, just for accurate time keeping.

If you Google for 'PC time sync' you will find free downloads that will enable you to set precisely your PC' s clock

You may be able to receive the low frequency Japanese JJY time broadcasts:

Or the Chinese BPC low frequency signals:

The BPC uses a proprietary protocol though.

Here is a useful document that I just came across while searching google - I never realized there are so many time transmitters.

Hi to ericgibbs and picasm,

I'm afraid I have to learn how to Google. Thanks both of you for your help. PC-synchronization is fine, but not enough. I also want to synchronize my home management system. So a radio signal is the better choice for that.

Kind regards

Boncuk
