Please help me, I need to make a circuit

Hi,

I need to make a circuit but I have no clue how.

The idea is that:

A button will be pressed so a tiny engine can be activated to make something spin.

This something will need to stop when it reaches a captor and start again when the button is pressed.

It will run on batteries.

Diodes, leds, transmitter etc is all foreign to me.

Please send me anything you know.
