Pls Help me to Make ACCL ( Auto Change Over Switch with Pre Set Load)

I am Fenol final year engineering student. pls help me for my project i want to make ACCL ( with Microcantroller) Which is preset for a specified current rating ( 800W to 1000W )on Single Phase 230V or 3 Phase 440V AC supply on generator Back up. and if the load exceeds the preset value the circuits get tripped. if Mains restore , the ACCL will changeover automatically to mains supply without any load restriction.

As this is a student project we can help with specific problems, but you are expected to come up with ideas yourself. What thoughts have you had so far on the hardware and software needed to do this?
