Query about a project of ''Mobile phone controlled robot''

Hello,

I am thinking of doing a project that involves controlling a robot with a mobile phone.
The idea is to use a bluetooth enabled phone to control the robot.
At the robot, the bluetooth device will b interfaced to a microcontroller via a USB port.
The microcontroller further controls the motors of the robot.

However, as in the case of a pc which is connected to a mobile thru bluetooth, we require drivers at the pc.

So how am i supposed 2 load the decoding software(drivers in the case of a pc) at the robot?

It is for sure that i require some software at the reciever to decode the keypresses at the mobile(transmitter).

I am confused about the feasibility of this project at the undergraduate level,as this reqiures me to have in-depth knowledge of J2ME(for creating the application at the mobile),Bluetooth,USB,Microcontrollers and Motors.

However, this has been done before by Sony Ericsson.They made a bluetooth controlled toycar named CAR 100.

Sparkfun.com has some really cool stuff that might help you, including GSM modules and Bluetooth modules. I'm trying to build something like the rotary phone right now, only using a cordless touchtone phone. Good luck man, this sounds cool.

How do you operate the receiver from bluetooth transmiter and the device? Do you using PC as the mediator?
