Hello all, I am planning on using this circuit to regulate temperature and help with acoustic noise of a large water cooled system. The heat exchanger is about 10ft from the heat source which also contains the control circuitry. How rubust do you think the PWM output of the MIC502 is? What I need to do is locate the switching transistor at the heat exchanger as thats where the fan power is. Will the signal be ok traveling 10ft or so? I was already planning on using a shielded cable but I didn't know if that was enough. Thanks!

I think a basic shielded cable will work just fine. At worst you may need to add a small pull down resistor on the transistors base if it some how manages to pick up interference from something.
