Hi can anyone please email me a simple schematic / parts list for a timer circuit
I need to turn a pump on and run it for 10 seconds then off again. (the switch will be a LDR and the pump is 12v dc) thanks in advance.

If you search this forum for "timer" you will find many. But you will have to do some minor adaption for your purpose.

One of the bet chips for this is a 555 Timer has it uses few external parts
and there is plenty of data about to set the timing.

try a seach on google for data sheets as they include the monstable and multivib circuit component values.
