sinwave generator

anybody can help me in designing a sinwave oscillator in CMOS technology which generates 3 or 4 cycles and stops after that.atleast give me a idea about that.

Speaking of TheOne, any idea where he went? He kinda just disappeared.

Whatever oscillator you use there are two approaches.

Either "gate" the oscillator on with a pulse of the required duration or count the oscillator's output and inhibit it when the required number of cycles has been generated.
