I want to permanently mount my bluetooth gps receiver which has a soft power button on the top. The problem is that in that the unit has to be mounted to the glass face up which will cover up the power button. I'm looking for a way to hard wire the unit so that when auxillary power comes on the unit will also come on and stay on. Are their any simple circuits I could build which would send a momentary pulse to the power button. I could remove the unit's internal batter to intall any additional parts which would be needed.

TIA

just did some checking... actually i need a closed circuit for 2-3 sec at power up.

How about a 555 timer?, the actual switch connection though depends on exactly how the current switch is wired up?. A solution that would work no matter how it's wired, is to use a small relay fed from the 555.
