Square wave detector ideas needed please.

Before I took an interest in uC's, that's exactly how I control the torque convertor in my Jag. LM2907/17's work well.

Ok thanks for that,got a day off today so will have a poke around with a meter as I'm sure I remember that someewhere there is a wire that is only live with the engine running.If that fails I'll look at the more technical ways of doing it.
