In a collection of old parts I found TDB0555 and a TDB0556 chips. I wonder if they are equivalent to the NE555 and NE556? I wasn't able to find any information about the TDB versions.

Greetings and thanks,

Probably, I would assume they're lower power versions of the traditional 555.

Try building LED flashers with them to verify this.

I did and they work exactly the same as my NE555 so I suppose it is ok :)

Greetings,

Try comparing the current consumption to a standard NE555. Build a monostable and note the current consumption before and after it's triggered.
