nsaspook. I define 'manly' differently than the general public does.
She was terrified beyond reason through a large part of the film and still soldiered on, that is manly. Looking good in skivvies is just a bonus

Die Hard (all - except maybe the last one)
Lethal Weapon (all)
Sin City
High Plains Drifter (heck, for that matter, just about any of the old Eastwood westerns)
Heavy Metal (not sure if it counts)
I'm not much into the fire fighting thing (our local department gets way too much funding for fluff) I'd rather see a more basic firehouse instead of the primly decorated one we have, more money for equipment and training to actually do something useful, but I've always been a minimalst kind of guy.
Sorry for the rant, that being said Backdraft is definitly one of my favorite movies.
There were a lot of inaccuracies firefighting wise in Backdraft, like improper PPE, melting SCBA's, and the lack of using the SCBA, but it was still a good guy flick. I enjoyed Ladder 49 better as it showed the tight knit family unit in a firehouse. That is one of things I find most enjoyable of working fire is the tight knit club. Sorta like when I was in the military.
