You really need to back up your posts with schematics or something as we are not going to guess!!OK, In Soldering Iron rated at 220V there is Diode in series as shown what is the use of it?
This question is just wrong... and very reminiscent of previous members who ask for clarification, completely ignore responses and then blithely proceed on to next unfathomably ridiculous question that reveals a astonishingly(and me think's a total put on) shallow understanding of the basics... .I mean does heating depend on half wave DC or AC Current through it?
No Sir.Has the Iron got temperature control???
Thanks SirThis question is just wrong... and very reminiscent of previous members who ask for clarification, completely ignore responses and then blithely proceed on to next unfathomably ridiculous question that reveals a astonishingly(and me think's a total put on) shallow understanding of the basics... .
Could be wrong, of course .

Yes Possibly, if the Iron is Direct 220 Volts.
But Many Irons use a transformer and operate at a lower voltage.
Koolguy, Where do you Live? Country?
How Old are You?
