ElectroNerdy, you've obviously never seen the math these guys get into for theorycrafting their charctors abilities. It's good for hand/eye coordination (more than just the brain needs to be exercised) Like Salgat said as well many of the games have very real economies both in game and in the real world. Check out e-bay sometime for some of the more rare loot cards that come with the trading game for World of Warcraft, they have little scratch off codes that can be turned in for items in the game, some sell for 2-300+ dollars, and a level 80 character with decent gear will generally sell for between 150 and 500 dollars. There's also the social and organizational abilities that it helps hone. The bigger raids in WoW are 25 man dungeons, it takes organization and team work to pull something like that off. My brother in law was talking to me the other day about a new team based first person shooter that'll be coming out that's going to have over 200 players on each side. Sure some people have problems with video games, but some people have problems with alcohol, with real drugs, with just about everything else. They are NOT the majority.
