7 to 14vdc pulse to input pin for a DAQ

Any suggestions of how to convert a 7 to 14VDC pulse into an input pulse that can be used in a DAQ circuit? I need to take this pulse and monitor its count and event time. Normally a 5vdc pulse would work for a typical Microchip PIC

Feed the pulse into a comparator circuit with an open drain output. Connect the pull up resistor of the open drain to the supply voltage of your PIC, so the output swings from 0V to the Vcc of the PIC.

...or simply use a ~ divide-by-3 voltage divider to reduce the pulse to ~ 2V-4V.
