GPS is very precise, but differs from NIST/UTC by leap seconds: https://www.rfcafe.com/references/general/universal-coordinated-time-utc.htm
Not hard to correct for that difference, though.
there is NO timing issue using GPS
The difference is automatically corrected in the GPS receiver ... dozens of scientific and other precision required organisation use GPS timing with no detriment as does the one I work for
