Can anybody shed light on connecting two **broken link removed** ic's in parallel such that their current capacity doubles. (1 amp).

Or is it okay , to get two sets of input pulses to two ic's and hope that they switch together when connected to the same motor.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my previous post.

Don't hope that they will switch together! They won't. But you might not care too much if they switch close enough together. The datasheet says they can be put in parallel. Since these are bipolars, put small valued current sharing resistors in the output and it will probably be ok. Maybe an ohm or two and make sure they have correct power rating.
