Is this as dangerous as it sounds?

Awesome thread.
LG - all I can say is I wish any girls had been interested in me when I was your age, let alone a pretty one - well, one was but our short relationship consisted of stilted phone calls - she would never meet up, wouldn't even be seen with me at school.
Sounds like you are nearly a couple by now anyway, doing stuff together - that's what it's all about.
Long legs... Hmmm. My figure of preference is more "Neolithic Venus" shaped. Doesn't have long legs...
Any my wife's figure of course. Definite preference there. Not very neolithic...

She is pretty cool, slightly strange in that she is very popular at school. but dosnt really take advantage of it, she tends to do her own thing and be her own person maybe thats why I like her. She got some stick for talking to me, I am a loner at school and most kind of steer well clear of me, she dosnt seem bothered in the slightest about other peoples reactions, I did warn her I would be bad for her street cred! she just laughed and said GOOD!
Dunno what to make of her, interesting to talk to and knows alot but isnt nerdy. Popular but dosnt care if she or isnt popular.............

She is going to start sorting out my shed tomorrow!! The word labels has been mentioned! My mum likes her and so does my little sister, so its a bit of a head scratcher to be honest.

Oh and green eyes, really DEEP GREEN, nearly as nice as her legs!!

OMG sounds like she is a real rare treasure. Definite keeper. Glad you finally managed to look up as far as here eyes :p
I got a bit worried last night since you mentioned her name on the forum. I really hope that wasn't her real name. All sorts of weird people about.

No I mentioned it before. Lindsey is her name <snip>. Yeah I got past the legs as I was asked a few times about her eye colour!! I got to the bumpy bits but after a few days I did finally manage to get up as far as her eyes! Now here is the odd bit, she is on facebook but has her account fairly locked down so its not open publicly, I have asked her if I can post a pic of us together on here. She is thinking about it which is fair enough, her parents are a bit funny with stuff like that so i wont push it but I suspect you will get a pic at some point.

<Mod edit: Let's respect her privacy here>

Is she aware of the public comments made here? If she took offence you could lose her.
Oh, btw, did you ever get the laptop repaired?

Bad move to post a pic publicly. The only thing I would remotely consider is sharing via PM. It's natural to want to "show her off", but I'd avoid the world at this point.

We have had individuals trolled in the past by classmates. Best not to release too much. As much as I'm happy to see you have a possible best friend and confidant. Just a thought, take it or leave it.

Also, seriously, on the 'net you shouldn't give out information in public which can be used to identify you personally, and that goes a hundred times over for anyone you care about, or even know. Only takes one person of malicious intent to do a huge amount of damage. She's got facebook locked down - good - as any teenage girl should (though I imagine most don't). I can quite happily visualise what you both might look like without actually knowing :)
If she's cagey about anything personal (like her picture or anything else) being put in a public place, you should respect that. I speak from experience - I've written about someone on a forum completely anonymously in the past and still got my fingers burnt.

Mine can't solder, never did well with the sciences or maths, and doesn't know much of anything about electronics. She tends to be on the artistic side of things -- She's a great singer, does a lot of crafting (she's crocheted quite a bit lately), she's a great cook, and has a good eye for neutral home improvements ("neutral" meaning nothing too frilly or feminine). Even better, she doesn't mind too much if I leave my scopes, micros, and breadboards strewn around the living room :D She lets me have the spare bedroom all to myself for my work area and she rarely goes in there.

Love your statement, my wife can't solder lets me have a large part of the house as workshops, even the kitchen table to repair the odd TV and leave test equipment laying around. Can't complain there, besides that she does scrapbooking and is a great cook and let me go every third year chasing tornadoes in the States.

Be an engineer. Use the supplied phone number to call her and let her know you fixed the laptop. End of story. :D

Women can be replaced but finding good shed space at an early age is a once in a lifetime thing and if you screw it up and lose it that mistake will haunt you for the rest of your life. :(

Brilliant !! Just the same as replacing a blown Capacitor.

Hehe, my ex-gf went nuts even when I soldered in WC. Good riddance, it was ~7 year ago.

...and let me go every third year chasing tornadoes in the States.

That is something I have been wanting to do for YEARS but never had the opportunity. Silver Lining tours?

Yes, Silver Lining Tours with Roger Hill.
He is the tornado specialist.

You did soldering in the toilet?
I did soldering in toilet, yes that's the word I was after :D She couldn't bear those fumes...either solder fumes or mine lol

Off-topic:
Judging by your avatar you seem to have an alter ego, LG?

Doesn't want to be associated with himself on AAC... Perfectly understandable :wideyed:
