The industry standard for most EEG and EMG needle electrodes, surface electrodes, and alligator clips is the 1.5mm “touch-proof safety socket.” Such sockets can be plugged into almost any modern EEG, ERG, or EMG machine. Technically, these 1.5 mm touchproof connectors fall under the DIN 42802-1 standard (under IEC 60601-1; sometimes written as DIN 42 802), which was adopted over 20 years ago to make electrodes safer. There are no longer any exposed metal pins; all metal components are recessed within plastic housings to minimize the risk of electrical shock. 1.5mm is the diameter of the recessed metal pin inside the EMG or EEG machine’s receptacle. The actual outer diameters of the plastic electrode plugs (and the corresponding receptacle in your machine) are typically just over 4mm. The recessed pin on the machine is the “male” half of the connection, and the touch-proof safety socket on the electrode is “female,” although it has the appearance of a plastic pin.

so now my question is, where can I find the male ends, preferably in white and blue, for less th$6.00 each?
that price really says something about the cost of medical care in the states.

The price of buying one of something has nothing to do with the cost of the product. It costs them more to walk through the warehouse, grab one out of a box and walk back to the dock than the part costs. Add to it, the cost of recording your name, address and what you bought and maintaining it for a long time in case they have to notify you of any issue with this device. All of the walking and recording are the same cost if you buy one or 10,000 pieces. The person who buys 10,000 gets a preferred price because the cost is diluted over thousands of parts vs the one that you want.

Actually I'm looking for the male side of those connectors. Check the original post.

I was hoping for a reasonable price such as most other connectors of that size. For instance this one for 76¢ (from a US supplier that has a "global distribution center contains more than a million unique, in-stock electronic components, all received directly from the factory, then shipped directly to you." and they have over 62,000 of these in stock I can buy one at a time if I wanted, at that somewhat reasonable price of 76¢ each, + shipping.

Anyway, point is, $6.00 is way over inflated, beause its a medical part aparently.

But if we could get back to where I can find the male side of those connectors, that would be fantastic. I'll probably have to resort to modifying the cable and replace those connectors with something that is not priced like solid gold.

Yes i see when I could purchase one at a time for a reasonably low price of 76¢ each, plus shipping.
