hi all, i want to build this circuit, but don't want to use the power supply indicated on the attached schematic. can someone come up with a 0-100vdc p/s i can use instead? also, where to attach it? thanks.
As they are adding a plastic washer to set a core gap, it's apparently an ungapped core, so the one with the higher AL value in the suppliers listings.
The plastic washer reduces that to an appropriate level.
This appears to be an appropriate one (a pair of cores):
Most manufacturers of switchmode power supply transformers/inductors will be happy to help you with selecting magnetics parts for this or any other step-up (boost) converter. The given circuit is actually pretty simple, and you can use a variable resistance instead of the multiposition switch.
