I have a simple 6V lamp circuit with a battery and a switch and am wondering if the following is possible; instead of the lamp coming on when the switch is closed, i only want the lamp to come on when the circuit breaks again. So when the switch is open the lamp is off, then the switch is closed and the lamp is still off, then the switch is open again and the lamp comes on.

Can anyone help? thanks guys.

you need a JK-master-slave flip flop for that and a momentary push button.

Check out the truth table of the 4027 for that.

Hmmm, ? how will you reset the circuit?

I would have thought a counter that worked on the falling edge of the signal would do the job, and a count of 2 reset the circuit, so it would mean another on off of the switch after the light was latched on to reset the circuit to be ready for the next cycle.

Pete.
