SSM2402 and power supply question

Hello

I am using an SSM2402 Analog devices switch as a mute switch, it is not in th dorect path of the signal, rather the signal runs straight past it, one side of the switch sees GND, the other sees that audio path. If open, there should be no affect on the signal, if closed theoretically it should create a path to GND, as a shunt. The switch requires a bipolar supply, and I am debating on building a PCB for it or buying a Lamba +- 15 at a surplus place near me for around $75.

In this application, what are the considerations for the PS? If I use a transformer and a 7818 and 7918 with plenty of caps(1000uF, .1, .01, 10uF) on each rail, am I just as well off as putting the Lambda brick in a box?

Thanks for any suggestions.
