steeper motors

I was wondering if there is a way to make a steeper motor run contentiously? It's so i can use old hard drive motors in a mincer combat robot.

You simply feed then a continuous series of steps - however, steppers are large, heavy, slow, and fairly low powered.

thank you. Do you know anything i could scavenge lintel motors out of? I don't wont to spend an lot of money on this project.

Why don't you salvage some motors and transmissions from some old cordless drills/screwdrivers? Way more torque than a stepper!
