Again to confirm your parcel arrived, Thanks :D

The parcel contains

2 x 4518
1 x 4093
1 x push switch

1 x ztx 653
1 x ztx 453 are these for the optional indicator output? have you given me a choice of two?

1 x shf 486
1 x sfh 203 for the trigger switch

I will give yiou the nod when I construct the circuit and if (when) I have any difficulty.

hi,
Items in 11:30am post today, 1st class , you should receive them Monday if Post Office are on the ball.

Download the datasheets from www.datasheetarchive.com for,

Photo-Diode SFH203-FA and IR Emitter SFH486

Hello Eric n all

Got all the parts now and it's time to put the circuit together.

Just wanted to ask about the switching with the photo diode and the emitter.

Can you advise on how best to include them into the circuit and how they should be wired up.I went to -
**broken link removed**
and did not find any info on the input power to them and what resistors they would require.

Regards Mark

hi Mark,

Sent you email requesting more info on the mounting/blanking method.

hi,
Thanks for the info.

Look at this drawing, it works OK on the bench, should give you what you want.

It uses the components you already have, use either ZTX transistor.

Hello all

An update of the circuit. After many attempts from me to get the circuit up and running today I think it is finally tested and working.:D

I would like to thank Eric, firstly for his circuit and also for his many off-forum replies via email to me when I wran into difficulties:confused: Without him my task would have been a lot harder;)

Now the circuit is running on the breadboard I would like to ask for advice on a more permanant circuit board.I do have Vero board so would this be ideal to use?

Morning Eric

The 0.1uf cap in the light detector, what does this do?

Regards Mark

hi,
It increases the transistor gain a higher frequencies, to sharpen up the pulse edges, it not essential in your project.
