I'm surprised JimB hadn't heard of it?, as a 'cobbler' is a very old British dessert, usually topped with scone mixture.

Interesting, in that they can be either sweet or savoury.

I've never been a cobbler fan, but I'm not really very keen on scones anyway - and I don't like cooked fruit, I won't go near an apple pie!
