powering 2 led strip lights with 1 esp32

Hi,
I have 1x esp32, 2x 24v 1000w power supplies and 2x ws2821b 10m strips
How can i use the esp to run both sets of lights, each one has its own power supply and the esp is powered by 1 of the power supplies with a buck converter to usb.

I tried connecting the grounds and it killed my esp32.

You connect the grounds, if it killed the ESP32 then you did something wrong - post pictures of EXACTLY how you did it.
